Who We Are

We like to see
the world differently

Untamed Places is a proudly independent, 100% Botswana citizen-owned safari company, founded and operated by Ronnie and Kefhilwe Mokotedi.

We believe there is always something new to see, to explore, to experience — even for the most well-travelled. We are constantly striving to seek out the extraordinary in every destination we offer, and no stone is left unturned. Botswana is a big, wonderful country, and our mission is to help you discover the very best of it.

Not all safaris are created equal, and what makes the difference is rarely the landscape — it is the people behind it. Every camp in our collection is genuinely owned, passionately operated, and deeply rooted in the wilderness it calls home.

Our Insight, Your Passions

Your extraordinary,
not ours

Untamed Places offers some of the most remarkable destinations and experiences in Botswana — not as a set itinerary, but as one tailored specifically to you and your own aspirations.

Everyone is different, with their own true interests and passions. It is our job to take all of these on board, and to discover what your extraordinary will be.

How We Work

One desk,
one conversation

Untamed Places manages all sales, marketing and reservations for every property in our collection. This structure ensures direct engagement, focused positioning and strengthened partnership with the travel trade — a single, dedicated point of contact for all bookings across the collection.

We keep our camps intimate — never more than 16 guests — so every experience feels personal, unhurried, and deeply connected to the wild. It is a deliberate ceiling, not a stage of growth we intend to pass.

Where You Will Find Us

Open now, and opening soon

Today you can stay with us at Camp Khwai, in the Khwai Community Concession on the northeastern edge of the Moremi Game Reserve, and at Ronberry Lodge in Serowe, a comfortable stop on the road north near the Khama Rhino Sanctuary. Our mobile journeys travel under My African Safari.

Untamed Camp Linyanti, Camp Chobe and Camp Makgadikgadi welcome their first guests on 31 March 2027. We would rather tell you that plainly now than have you arrive expecting a camp that is still being built.
